LIS 6711 ORGANIZATION OF KNOWLEDGE I
This report highlights critical components of Digital Humanities, such as metadata, controlled vocabularies, classification, and ontologies. Librarians play an important role in providing structure and organization to the data related to digital humanities, with the goal of enabling humanities scholars to find digital resources efficiently and effectively.
LIS 6711 ORGANIZATION OF KNOWLEDGE I
LCSH and FAST are, among other controlled vocabularies, are used to assist in the description of items. In this assignment, I outlined my process of assigning FAST and LCSH subject headings to a book, employing a careful analysis of the subject matter of the book.

ArchivesSpace and CONTENTdm: The Connie May Fowler Collection
LIS 6946 SUPERVISED FIELD WORK
ArchivesSpace and CONTENTdm were the two software programs utilized for the Connie May Fowler Collection at the Bienes Museum of the Modern Book located in downtown Fort Lauderdale. I created the finding aid using ArchivesSpace and digitized the correspondence using CONTENTdm. These technologies are widely used in the archives and special collections profession.
